A: In Canada, copyright laws exempt temporary reproductions or copyrighted works. Since most streaming video does not actually involve downloading a copy of the work (it merely creates a temporary copy that cannot be permanently copied), it is not illegal to view streaming videos in Canada. Furthermore, only the online streaming site you’re connected to knows the internet address of the viewer. That means that even if they wanted to, copyright holders simply can’t know who’s watching these videos.
In America, the laws are much more complex and so RIPCORD Streaming TV & Media Player cannot offer advice as to the legality of streaming shows. Android Boxes themselves offer lots of other OTA options such as Netflix, Hulu, etc. However if you chose to use streaming with Kodi add-ons like Genesis, you do so at your own risk.
A: No. These are not affected by any down time and all of the content available on them is openly shared on the internet for free. If you ever run into a problem with the player we are here to help you fix it. We offer a 3 months warranty and after that time we charge $30.00 to re-flash your RIPCORD Streaming TV & Media Player.
A: You can move your RIPCORD Streaming TV & Media Player between TVs if you want to do so. However, you can’t access the Android player from a TV that isn’t directly hooked into it like a PVR. For the best experience, one player per TV works.
A: That choice is up to you. Many people do cancel their cable after getting an RIPCORD Streaming TV & Media Player. The only reason you might not cancel is for Live Sports and Live News. You can watch a lot of Live Sports on your RIPCORD Streaming TV & Media Player, but we won’t lie to you and tell you that’s it’s the best. The quality is not always great. Many Live TV stations that are free such as Fox and NBC have major sporting events but if you’re truly a sports fanatic, you may want to consider buying a sports pack from a major sports league (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL). A: The Internet speed needed to view your content on the RIPCORD will depend on the resolution of the video you are streaming. Please reference the chart below to view the speed needed.

A: The speed and reliability of your Internet connection plays a huge role in your ability to enjoy your favorite content on your RIPCORD Streaming TV & Media Player. To check your Internet connection speed please use the following instructions:
- Click the green “My Apps” tab on the RIPCORD Streaming TV & Media Player home screen.
- Click on the “Speed Test” app.
- Click “Begin Test” on the screen and let the test run to see what speeds you currently have.
- If you are getting less than the speeds recommended in the above chart there are some options you can try to help increase the speed.
- Move your Wi-Fi router closer to your RIPCORD Streaming TV & Media Player.
- Reset your Internet Modem by unplugging it for 30 seconds and then plugging it back in.
- Contact your Internet Service Provider if you are not getting the speed for which you are paying.
A: 1 year warranty, and a year of technical support are included with the purchase of a RIPCORD Streaming TV & Media Player.
